Today, all of year 4 worked together. We had a special reading lesson in which we learned about how the computer industry is trying to help schools and children to get into computer programming using games. First, we read a text about the industry and how certain computer programming apps for children work. We had to answer lots of questions about the text. Then we briefly got to programme the robot A.L.E.X. on iPads to get him to move on a grid. Then, we took to the playground and drew chalk grids and played the game by 'programming' each other to move on the grids, just like A.L.E.X. in the app.
