As I write this post, all of the children in our school are outside, forming the number 387 in the playground. This is the number of refugee children in "The Jungle of Calais" that are currently not with their family, who are seeking refuge in our country. Several schools in the area have staged an appeal to re-unite these children with their families.
We had a film crew here, photographing and filming us from above, while the pupils hold up a leaf on which they wrote about something that they could not do without. They then tore the leaf to show the pain such a loss would cause.

Although it got a little chilly, our PE team soon came up with a few exercises to warm us all up again.
All of year 4 just had another round of 'reading fun'. Today we read about autumn and the changes that occur as a result of the seasons changing. As always, we discussed the text and answered questions related to what we read about. Afterwards, we made several 'leaf collages' to produce an autumn scene...
